At Antumbra Lighting, we shape environments through the art of light. With studios in Dublin and Melbourne, we are an independent lighting design consultancy delivering bespoke, high-end lighting solutions for clients across the globe. For over 20 years, we’ve partnered with world-renowned architects, interior designers, and creatives to craft spaces that are as functional as they are visually inspiring.

Our philosophy is simple: light should not be an afterthought. It’s a fundamental design element that brings architecture to life. We work as an integral part of every project team, ensuring lighting is seamlessly integrated from concept to completion. As independent consultants, our work is unbiased, equipment-free, and always in service of the space and its story.

Operating across two hemispheres, our studios in Melbourne and Dublin offer clients continuous project momentum—while one team ends their day, the other begins. This unique structure provides the advantage of nearly 24-hour design coverage, effectively delivering two days of progress in one.

Giuseppe Simone

Throughout his career, Giuseppe Simone has collaborated with multiple prominent architects and interior designers, including luminaries such as John Pawson, Yabu Pushelberg, Joyce Wang, Woods Bagot, and Zaha Hadid Architects.
These partnerships have been instrumental in crafting unique and evocative experiences that seamlessly integrate architecture and illumination, enhancing spaces both functionally and aesthetically.
In his career Giuseppe expertise has worked in the hospitality industry with renowned brands like Edition Hotels, Mandarin Oriental, W Hotels, IHG, Equinox, and Nobu.

Maria Khoury

Maria’s background in Interior Design gives her a unique perspective, enabling her to fully understand how a space is designed, how it functions, and how it’s perceived by its users. This insight allows her to thoughtfully and skillfully apply lighting solutions that achieve both aesthetic and functional goals, with a high level of detail and creative expression.
Throughout her career, Maria has worked with some of Australia’s top lighting designers and partnered with leading architectural and interior design firms on a range of major local and international projects.
Her experience spans commercial, entertainment, hospitality, retail, and residential developments, greatly enriching her expertise and broadening her skill set.

Damien McKay

From boutique hotels to international public spaces and luxury yachts, Damien’s expertise in architectural lighting design spans over two decades, multiple countries and award-winning projects.
With a unique blend of creativity and technical precision, he collaborates with leading architects to bring visions to life, from concept to completion, delivering exceptional results on time and within budget.
Damien leads the European Antumbra team, currently working on large projects in Europe, UK & Middle East.

Senior Lighting Designer - Europe

Hygerta Tufa

Graduating as an Electrical Engineer, Hygerta has contributed to a wide range of significant projects, including residential and public spaces, resorts, and city infrastructure.
Her passion for innovation and dedication to staying ahead of the latest lighting trends allow her to craft impactful and creative lighting solutions that bring spaces to life.
Currently, Hygerta is leading large-scale projects in the Middle East, Seychelles, and the Maldives, blending her technical expertise with artistic vision to create extraordinary experiences.

Senior Lighting Designer - Australia

Thuan Nguyen

Thuan is a Lighting Designer with 10 years of experience working on residential and hospitality projects in Vietnam. With a background in Architecture, He ensures that each lighting design achieves a balance between functionality and aesthetics.
He has had the opportunity to work with leading lighting companies across Asia, Europe, and Australia, which has helped him refine his skills and stay updated with the latest trends.
Thuan always aims to create unique lighting solutions that reflect the local culture and the distinct character of each space. For him, it’s all about making every project stand out and adding something special to the environment.

Agnieszka Sawicka

Agnieszka brings a unique advantage to the Antumbra team having worked in the finance industry for 15+years. Working previously on the supplier side of lighting, Agnieszka has sought to be more involved in the creative industry and thus has been a huge asset to our team in advising on our structures and client facing accounts. Whilst also managing our team structure on a daily basis with each new project our team is involved with.
